The word around town is a
party isn’t a party unless Emerald City is in the house. Ask the thousands
of Mavs and Stars fans who groove to the band at Reunion Arena. Or the buffs
who gather each weekend at the Broadway Grill to hear Deno and his band of
funk purveyors. Since Emerald City first appeared on the Dallas scene in
’85, the party doesn’t really start until they say so. The reason? One
of the first full-horn sections in Dallas: Roman Dudak on the sax, Jim
Foster on the trumpet, and Dave Butler on the trombone. Their melding sets
Emerald City apart from the rest of the Dallas party bands and gives every
Emerald City set an originality and verve.
